Currently, Dr. Gross serves as Senior Advisor for Learning and Training (Human Data AI) at Mercor, the fastest-growing startup in history. In this role, she leads the training and certification of hundreds of thousands of PhDs, engineers, and expert practitioners who deliver high-quality data to major AI labs. Her work has pioneered scalable methodologies that enable experts to use artificial intelligence effectively, responsibly, and at global scale.
She is also Chief Learning Officer for AI Curriculum and Strategy at UConnect, where she is bringing AI courses, certifications, and training programs to more than 3 million undergraduates across 400 U.S. universities. Previously, she served as Director of Learning, Training, Community, and Thought Leadership at Handshake AI, and as Principal of Education at Adobe, where she helped scale the Adobe Education Exchange from 100,000 to over 1 million educators. Across her career, she has created more than 30 online courses and over 10,000 teaching materials.

Before her work in AI, Dr. Gross was a professor and internationally recognized expert in teaching “difficult history.” She has held faculty positions at Stanford University, Brown University, and the University of Maryland, spoken at UNESCO, advised the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, and co-authored Troubled History, Troubling Times (Routledge, 2019). Her scholarship continues to shape international education policy and practice.
Cross-functional and collaborative, Dr. Gross works across executive leadership, engineering teams, data pipelines, and learning communities to design education that is both rigorous and human-centered.
Beyond her professional work, she is also a muralist with an international following, a community arts leader, and a proud mother. Whether in classrooms, corporations, or on city walls, her work is driven by a commitment to helping people see — and create— the world in a new way.
